The horse whinnied loudly as rain poured through his tangled mane and off his bare back. His owner had left him here in the dead of night. "You're too wild for me, but not for the real wild!" the man had said with a creul laugh " I'll pick up your body later" The horse did not understand this, but he was afraid. Afraid after being mistreated for an entire two years. He did not remember the two before that, the years where he had gone from a wobbly newborn to a proud two year old. He had been full of tricks, tricks that were cute when he was small, but dangerous when he grew. He did not remember parting company with his loving family and going into a small, dark trailer. He remembered a lesson ground into him for half his life: Man is Pain.

Lauren mounted Mist, her excercise saddle with longer stirrups that normal, since they were going out to the fields instead of the track, and urged her into a brisk walk. After a few moments of that, she tapped her with her heels, and they began to trot down the dirt road, eventually getting to the fields. Her gaze covered the land, wondering where Jennifer was. Her wondering stopped as she saw a lone horse in the fields, its back still wet from last night's storm. He looked abused and neglected, and for a moment, all Lauren could do was stare. Who had done this to this beautiful stallion?

Jenn happily saddled her new filly, a perky bundle of speed. She rode rather quickly to the feild, enjoying how smooth the ride felt. Her horse was only an average jumper, and so she avoided the logs on the way. When she got to the feilds, she saw her new friend standing still, staring at a saddless, bridless horse. " Oh, no."She rode Beside Lauren and looked at the creature. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The horse stood stock still as he saw a human approach, mounted on another horse. He rolled his eyes in anxiety and sidestepped. Then he stood watchfully. If they came near he would run. Suddenly, another of the strange pairs appeared. His coat flicked for a few seconds, and he tried to run off. Then he saw the road opposite. He stopped in despair. He was trapped. Two riders on one side, a road on the other, a wood in front and a parking lot in back. Suddenly, he let himself go down upon his knees. He lay, unwilling to get up, and cast an eye at the riders.

Lauren didn't even hear Jenn's voice, she was so absorbed in staring at the colt in front of her. Who would ever do such a thing? It was too awful to think about......What would they do? What could they do? The colt in front of them was obviously afraid of them. Then she noticed Jenn beside her. "What do we do?"

Jenn watch the horse collapse in fear. Once, when she had volnteered at a rescue, she had seen this. She reached into her saddlebags and pulled out the halter she had packed incase the had to tie the horses up so they could hike. " He isn't going to move anytime soon. I'll get him," she said. Then she thought some more. "But I can't keep him. Not near Ravenmane."
She walked up and haltered the motionless horse, holding onto the lead and backing as far as it would let her.

"Alright." Said Lauren as Jenn said she'd go get the colt. At her statement about not being able to stable the colt, she spoke up, coming out of her shock and disgust. "We can board him at my place....Mist may not like most people, but other horses don't bother her in the least." She said, staring at the colt. He was really beautiful, even under the obvious look of neglect.

It took awhile, but eventually the horse rose. He eyed Jenn warily, but decided to follow her. She led him to Dash and mounted her horse, and began a slow ride to Lauren's.

Lauren rode ahead of Jenn, hurrying so that she could get the stall ready for the new colt. Unmounting quickly, she led Mist, then went back into the barn, dumping some shavings into the biggest stall there. It was a round, breeding stall that Lauren had had installed a few weeks ago in case she ever decided to breed Mist or any other horses she may get in the future. But because it was rounded, Lauren figured it would be safest for the young colt. At the back of it, a large door remained open into a medium sized paddock with rather tall fencing. After filling the water bucket, she went out to the front of the barn to search for the figure of Jenn. It had taken her 7 minutes to get ready.

The horse followed Jenn slowly, warily. She hadn't beaten him yet. No, not yet, but he knew humans better. She led him to a large, round stall in a barn, and she realesed him there, exiting the stall and closing the door behind her.
Congrats, Lauren Fluffy Parkinson you now have a new horse! You will be pmed with his stats, please reply by giving him a name![/i]
