Lauren pulled into the gravel driveway of her new home, a broad smile on her face. Ever since her mother had kicked hre out of her home back in Elijay, Georgia, Lauren had been living in boarding stables in a cot outside Celtic Mist's stall. A few weeks ago, she had seen this property and knew it was her new home.
She had met Jennifer Phillips earlier that day when she had stopped for one last break before coming. That colt she had-Ravenmane was its name-was quite a fiesty one. Not as much as Mist when anyone besides Lauren handled her, but still pretty fiesty.
Pulling her truck to a careful and complete stop, she sighed, then opened her door so that she could walk around back to where Celtic Mist was neighing anxiously. "Shush, babe, it's alright." Said Lauren, her Southern drawl evident, as she opened the back and walked toward.
Untying her quickly, she led her mare out backwards into the sunshine. "Ain't this nice weather?" Lauren said soothingly, rubbing Mist's gray neck. Once they were inside the barn, she led Mist into a large stall and let her go. Immediatly, Mist began to inspect her new surroundings, then dunked her head in the water bucket, gulping the water down.
"Easy, girl, you don't wanna get sick." Advised Lauren, who had grabbed a flake of and had just thrown it in. "Well, you're settled, then." She said after a few minutes, then walked to her front porch and plopped herself down in a chair, enjoying life.

Jennifer sighed happily. Nothing worked like a new neighbor to get her to make huge amounts of her E-Z peanutbutter fudge. She crammed as much as she could into the decrotive tin (made to look like the head and neck of a reddish bay horse), closed it, and stuck some of the extra into her mouth. She had learned that Laurens property was only a short walk from her own. She grabbed the tin and set out.
Soon, she reached the property. As she traveled down the gravel driveway, she could see the girl in a lawn chair. She walked until she was about a yard and a half away from the porch.
"Want some fudge, Neighbor?"

[[AHHHHH I love that fudge *sigh* Darn you now I have this craving for it.]]
Lauren had closed her eyes, listening to the birds twittering around, the wind blowing softy through the trees, and the distant sounds of her filly prancing around in her new stall. But for the most part, it was pretty quiet. It was nice, the quiet. Before Lauren had moved out-er kicked out-of her mother's farm in Elijay, she had had to put up with all the noises of a breeding farm.
Not that Lauren disliked it, quite the opposite actually. But that farm....Well it had a cold atmosphere......She had never really felt at home there. Shaking her head slightly, she turned the radio on to a familiar song.
Baby, what do you say we just get lost? Leave this one horse townlike two rebels without a cause. I got people in Boston. Ain't your daddy still in Des Moines? We can pack up tomorrow. Tonight, let's flip a coin
Heads, Carolina Tails, California. Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer. Up in the mountains, down by the ocean. Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin' Somewhere together. I've got a quarter. Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
We can load what we own in the back of a U-haul van. Couple modern day Moses', searchin for the promised land. We can go four hundred miles before we stop for gas. We can drive for a day, and then we'll take a look at the map.
Heads, Carolina Tails, California. Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer. Up in the mountains, down by the ocean. Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin' Somewhere together. I've got a quarter. Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
We're gonna get outta here if we gotta ride a Greyhound bus. Boy, we're bound to outrun the bad luck that's tailin' us
Heads, Carolina Tails, California. Somewhere greener, somewhere warmer. Up in the mountains, down by the ocean. Where? It don't matter, as long as we're goin' Somewhere together. I've got a quarter. Heads, Carolina Tails, California.
O---oh, California! Carolina! California!
Lauren smiled as the lyrics played through her head, broken only by a voice that seemed vaguely familiar. If only she could place it.....Opening her eyes, she saw that it was the woman she had met earlier with her horse, Ravenmane. "Hey Jennifer.....We're neighbors, are we? Awesome." Said she as she turned the radio down. "Whatcha got there?"

[[just make some yourself- 1 cup peanutbutter, 1 average size package choc. chips, heat over stove and throw in whatever you want and dump it in a greased brownie tin, and freeze until solid, thats why its E-Z]]
" Yea, we are! This is one of the few tasty things I can cook that isn't from a box. My ever so famous E-Z fudge."
Jenn held up the container to Lauren, gripping it by the neck for fear that she would accidentally stick her finger up the nostrils or something if she held it by the head.
[[Some how I knew you would start it by saying: Lauren had closed her eyes. We know eachother so well]]

[*sigh* We don't have peanut butter nor chocolate here AHHHHHHHH]]
"Hahaha I love to cook." Said Lauren with a laugh. "For me? Thanks." She said, standing up to walk towards her. "I don't have a working fridge up here, yet. Have to use the one at the barn. Wanna come down with me?" Lauren asked her, tilting her head.
[[So well or too well? hehe]]

"Sure!" Jenn said. Her plan after this had been to laze for most of the day. She has time.

[[but tis a good thing, I think]]
Lauren smiled, then led the way toward her large barn, where Mist was still investigating her new home. "This is my mare, Celtic Mist. She's two." Said she with a proud look on her face; no one thought Mist would be make it in the racing world except for Lauren because of her crippled leg. Walking to the fridge, she opened it and put the fudge inside.
